Wiltshire Cricket's NEW 2024 iniative!
In 2024, we’re very excited to be launching a Women’s Volunteer Network, which aims to create a community of female volunteers, coaches, supporters, players and officials as well as providing opportunities for Women and Girl’s to develop their knowledge about cricket (e.g. Through workshops, including Umpiring/Scoring, First Aid, Skillset sessions, Mental Health in/around sport and many more planned for the oncoming season) With these opportunities, we are looking to provide clubs and individuals with the support to grow the Women and Girls game across the county.
Women's Volunteer Network Launch Event
On Thursday 18th April Wiltshire Cricket hosted the launch of the Women’s Volunteer Network at Devizes Corn Exchange.
At the launch event there was a range of stands including Gray Nicolls, Her Game Too, Western Storm, Wiltshire County Cricket/County Seniors, Southern Academy of Sport and more!

Through the creation of this network, we are aiming to create a community for Women in Cricket that goes beyond just coaching and looks to support Women to fulfil various roles within the game. The ambition for the network is that it becomes a community for Women in any role in Wiltshire to come together on a regular basis, facilitated through our Women and Girls Development Officers.
Through the Women’s Volunteer Network, Wiltshire Cricket has already hosted a FREE Scoring and Umpiring workshop at Trowbridge Cricket Club focusing on the basic fundamentals including online and in-book scoring, umpiring signals, common rues in cricket and much more.
Following the success of the first Workshop, there are now more opportunities to join a course over the season including more Scoring & Umpiring opportunities as well as Bowling Skillsets and Committee Role workshops already booked in the diary.

Along with the Workshops, we aim to put out a monthly newsletter to highlight what is going on in and around the county! In these newsletters we also like to celebrate club team achievements each month with a highlight page for the 2024 season.
