Wiltshire Cricket is delighted to welcome Thea Hopkins to the Wiltshire Cricket Development Team.

Thea joins the Wiltshire Cricket Development Team in January 2024 in the role of Women's & Girls Cricket Development Officer. In her new role, Thea will closely support our Women's & Girls' Cricket Development work across the county, whilst leading on valuable initiatives such as the ECB & Chance to Shine Secondary Girls Programme. The role also includes coaching support on the Girls Talent Pathway Programme, W&Gs Club Competition delivery and a development focus for girls cricket in Wiltshire.

As part of the development team, Thea will be an integral employee, working closely with W&Gs Clubs, volunteers, coaches and teachers, who play an important role in the growth, development and sustainability of W&Gs Cricket in Wiltshire.

Specifically, the role will include the following areas:
  • Women and Girls Club Development
  • Women and Girls Competition Delivery and Support
  • Community Coaching on Girls School programmes
  • Girls Talent Pathway administrative support
  • Girls Talent Pathway coaching support
     

Thea joins the Wiltshire Cricket Development team in a professional capacity, having also represented Royal Wootton Bassett Women's teams in a playing capacity, where Thea has captained, coached and supported the growth of the W&Gs game. Thea has recently achieved a Core Coach Qualification with Wiltshire Cricket and has gained some valuable coaching experience in a club environment and within the Wiltshire Girls Talent Pathway. In her previous employment, Thea has developed extensive administrative and customer service skills, whilst also being a keen hockey player during the winter months.
