National Programmes (All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket) Virtual Roadshow: Save The Date - 28th November

2023 was another hugely successful year for All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket in Wiltshire.

Through the 36 cricket clubs that delivered the programmes in Wiltshire we saw 1700 children enjoy their first opportunities within the game, hopefully inspiring a life long love of the game for both the children and their families. In addition, we delivered the programmes in schools and community settings to a further 200 children. As part of our celebration of the programmes, we also recognised two clubs at our Grassroots Cricket Awards evening last Thursday:

  • NEW National Programmes club of the Year – RAMSBURY CC
  • National Programmes Club of the Year – WARMINSTER CC

You can read more about our awards evening and the achievements of both clubs here; https://www.wiltshirecricket.co.uk/news/2023-11-17/amazing-volunteers-recognised-at-our-2023-grassroots-cricket-awards-evening.html.

Wiltshire Cricket has historically been a leading county for the delivery of All Stars and Dynamos Cricket, thanks to the efforts of the clubs that deliver the programmes. This means we are attracting more children to the programme as a proportion of our county population compared to the national average. This is setting a fantastic foundation for future participation within the game for years to come. However, we have also been very aware in recent years of the importance of building upon the successful numbers that we have attracted and with that in mind 2023 saw us give significant focus to growing Under 9s Cricket. This resulted in some fantastic numbers that can be read about here; https://www.wiltshirecricket.co.uk/news/2023-10-16/wiltshire-cricket-celebrates-under-9s-club-cricket-in-2023.html.

We also recognised a number of clubs for their achievements in Under 9s Cricket at last week’s awards evening, most notably:

  • SWINDON CC
  • CRICKLADE CC
  • CORSHAM CC

Moving on to the purpose of this email, Wiltshire Cricket is passionate about ensuring the continued success of All Stars and Dynamos Cricket for the years to come. We also want to continue the expansion of Under 9s Cricket and with this in mind we hope that more clubs might be attracted to get involved with these early years of the junior cricket pathway.

As we start to look ahead to 2024, many clubs may already have seen that the ECB is holding a National Programmes Virtual Roadshow next Tuesday, 28th November, from 6.30pm onwards. The details of this event can be found below:
