Wiltshire Cricket's amazing network of volunteers recognised at Grassroots Cricket Club Leaders Awards Evening!

The Assembly Room at Devizes Town Hall played host to our awards evening, where we recognised some amazing volunteers from across Wiltshire. Awards presented included our Clubmark certificates, ECB Coach of the Year Awards and the 2022 Grassroots Cricket Award winners!

The Club Leaders event was a culmination of a series of events that have taken place this Autumn, including dedicated events for our Officials, Grounds Volunteers, Women's and Girls Cricket and Boys Talent Pathway Cricket.

Being able to recognise individual groups of volunteers through these events has been a fantastic way of us saying thank you to a large number of volunteers across the county, and is recognition of one of Cricket's great strengths; its volunteer network. There are not many Sports that offer so many different ways to be involved; from playing to coaching, umpiring to scoring, to maintaining grounds or to supporting in an administrative role on a club or league committee. Cricket really is rich for its wide array of volunteers and at the Club Leaders Awards evening, we recognised some specific individuals who have done great things for their club or association.

Clubmark Re-accreditations

The evening began with us recognising the 23 Cricket Clubs that have achieved Clubmark re-accreditation in 2022. ECB Clubmark is an accreditation scheme for cricket clubs which shows that a club is sustainable, well run and provides the right environment for its members. Clubmark accreditation also means your club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages, as well as assuring parents and carers that they are choosing the right option for their young people.

You can read more about our Clubmark re-accreditations via our Clubmark re-accreditations news item.
