Wiltshire Cricket Welcomes Super 9s
Wiltshire Cricket is proud to announce the launch of Super 9s. Super 9s is an extension of the disability pathway. Wiltshire have selected its first Super 9s Development Squad for the upcoming season through the fast-growing Super 1s Programme. Winter sessions begin on November 2nd and will continue on a fortnightly basis until the end of March.
At the entry to the disability pathway is Super 1s, Wiltshire Cricket runs 4 Super 1s Hubs throughout the County in a number of locations (Swindon, Chippenham, Westbury and Salisbury). Sessions run on various evenings throughout the week, between 5-6PM. Over the past 2 years Super 1s has seen fantastic growth all-round with over 50 participants signed onto the programme. This growth has facilitated start of the Super 9s Programme through the Super 1s participant base.
What is Super 9s?

Super 9s is an extension of Super 1s with a greater focus on improving cricket skills, having the opportunity to apply these skills playing against other counties in games (8 players per side).
This programme is a structured, lightly competitive format of cricket designed to give participants the chance to play in game environments. Super 9s has a larger focus on cricketing development when compared to Super 1s, with the same overriding values of enjoyment and personal development.
Super 9s provides the platform for players to be placed in match environments playing against other Super 9s squads in different counties. The format for these matches differs from game-to-game, but usually run in a pairs format lasting between 8-20 overs giving participants a great chance to show off their skills outside of Super 1s.
The start of the Super 9s squad presents a first of its kind opportunity in Wiltshire, and we cannot wait to get started!
