How to become a Coach
First, make contact with your local club. 40 clubs across Wiltshire now have Junior sections and are looking for more and more coaches to support the clubs with their ever-increasing number of children. At these clubs you will tend to find a junior coordinator who overlooks all youth matters including the coaches and their Continuous Professional Development. Many clubs subsidise the course costs or even fully pay for each of their prospective coaches as they know this is the way to further develop their club and improve it in the long run.
If this route is not for you then contact us. We organise and deliver each of the courses that are run in Wiltshire. By the end of July we will have a full Coach Education Programme planned for the September 2007 to March 2008 timeframe. This programme will consist of all the necessary courses and their Bolt Ons.
Want to get a head start?
If you are raring to go now and want to get things moving then contact your Local Authority to see if they are running any courses to get you started. It is a lot easier and quicker if you have attended your First Aid and Safeguarding and Protecting Children course as you can not qualify for your coaching badges until these courses are complete.
You can also contact us to get your ECB Criminal Records Bereau check completed. This is required for every Cricket Coach. It does not matter whether you have other CRB checks completed as to comply with the ECB regulations all new and existing coaches should be checked by our own department. If you or your club need CRB forms then please let us know and we will get them out to you. Once you have completed your sections of the form then you can contact one of our CRB signatories (dotted around the County) to get it signed off.
